The Holidays are a bit warmer with this ale from my favorite St. Louis Brewer. Schlafly tend to over spice and flavor their specialty ales, but I appreciate the courage to do something different. I think the cloves are a little to strong in this ale, but it makes for a Belgium experience. It has a vague resemblance of Leffe from the spicy flavor. Additionally, I love the clarity and flavor of this Amber ale. It was a great beer to finish off 2009.
